Citric Acid racing Team

Our chariot for the race is a 1994 Suzuki Swift 'Xtreme'. Now before you get too excited, 'Xtreme' is a bit of an over statement!

 

This 3 door little beauty packs a 4 cylinder 1.3 litre engine pushing 49kW through a 5 speed manual gearbox to the front wheels. (Well, it was 49kW over 20 years ago...). with15" rims housing disk brakes front and back. Initial calculations suggest that the standard 40 litre fuel tank should just get us through an hour of racing - about 45 laps.

 

At the moment it runs... just... well kinda! The lads have a bit of work to do to to build and install the roll cage, rip out the interior and install a race seat and harness. Along witt that there will have to be a bit of tinkering under the bonnet to (hopefully) ensure reliability. It's a good start, and the Swifts lightweight build should serve us as a good platform. Let the fun begin!!
